A serious moment from Helen (actually this occurred right after she was sexually harassed by Nasim Pedrad).

SNL Recap: Helen Mirren and Frank Stein
Alright, I'm tired of bashing SNL so this will be a hate-free Saturday Night Live blog post. Last night's episode of SNL starred Dame Helen Mirren (she is a dame, right?) who got to put her British accent to good use as Mary Shelley in a sketch about the Frankenstein monster (reminding us that the character is just "the monster"). The episode began with a rather boring discussion of the almost government shutdown, featuring Fred Armisen as Barack Obama... AGAIN (I'm so tired of seeing Armisen as Obama, it's not even funny). Actually, the highlight of the show was the spot-on sketch about Fox News where the hosts just make things up and say "I just assumed it was true". Apparently (at least according to Bill Hader's impression of James Carville), during the last government shutdown Bill Clinton met Monica Lewinsky. Say what? That's a fact to keep logged in the back of my brain. ...And Kristen Wiig was hilarious as usual.
